Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a relatively new form of project delivery that involves a collaborative effort of parties to the project (owner, design professionals, contractors, including key trades, and other stakeholders in the project). It is a transparent relationship among the parties that involves full and complete sharing of information and cooperation, along with a sharing of both risks and rewards. It is intended to eliminate most claims that could arise during the course of any project. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has developed a family of contract documents which is intended to address the unique issues of IPD. This Program will generally explain the concept of IPD and focus in on gaining an understanding of the contract documents involved in such a project.
