Scope: For any worker/supervisory engaged in excavation work under CFR Subpart “P” 1926.650, 651, 652

Purpose: To provide relevant information to that person becoming classified by the employer as an “Excavation Competent Person”.

Training Syllabus:

            Subpart “P” 650 definitions and applications of the standard section

            Subpart “P” 651 specific regulations of the standard including industry best practices;

·       Protection for employees

·       Soil Classifications

Subpart “P” 652 requirements for protective systems;

·       Sloping/Benching Shoring

·       Tabulated Data

·       Any relevant appendix or subjects related to excavation work such as utilities
