2020 STEP
It's time for the 2020 ABC National STEP application process. The Safety Training and Evaluation Process award program provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop your company's safety and loss prevention program and provides a vital, objective method to measure safety program improvements. Our goal this year at ABC Delaware is to get 100% participation by our contractor members.

Applications must be done online.  The online form is to be used to apply for ALL levels (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participant). Here are some frequently asked questions about why you apply for the National STEP Awards:

1. Who should complete the STEP application?
Founded in 1989 as a safety bench marking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 24 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce job-site incidents.

2. What are the STEP achievement levels?
There are six levels of STEP achievement:
Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Participant.

3. Is there a fee to participate in STEP?
There is no application fee for STEP involvement at the Participant, Bronze, Silver or Gold recognition levels when you submit your application online at
http://www.abcstep.org/ . Please note that there is a $35 processing fee for all paper applications.

There is a fee for each Platinum application submitted. This fee is only refundable if the application does not meet the minimum 20 Key Components qualifying score; any application submitted that does not qualify based on the Incidence Rate, Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and fatality qualifying criteria listed in the application instructions below WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Payment information should be submitted with the Platinum application; failure to do so may result in processing delays.
