Charter Cup Winner 2025

This year’s winner is Jeromy Newton, President of Nickle Electrical Companies. This award is presented annually to the contractor member who exemplifies the true meaning of the Merit Shop philosophy. His company is a 38-year member of Associated Builders & Contractors. He served on the ABC Board for 6 years, including Chairman of the Board in 2023.

Jeromy has been an active member serving on a variety of committees since 2013 including: Young Professionals, Careers in Construction, Legislative & Legal Rights, and ABC’s educational arm, the Construction Education Foundation of Delaware.

During his term as First Vice Chairman and Chairman, he was instrumental in the ongoing revitalization of the Craft Championship, highlighting the work of craft apprentices, the future of our industry in Delaware.

His company has always been an active participant at ABC events in addition to sponsorships throughout the years.

When it comes to legislative matters, Jeromy has always been one of the first members to step up to support the Merit Shop, whether it is dealing with prevailing wage regulations, pre-qualification or union-only Project Labor Agreements.

He is a strong supporter of the ABC Merit Shop Political Action Committee, a committee that contributes to political candidates in Delaware who support ABC and the merit shop philosophy. He is also a strong supporter our national political action committee and his company is always willing to write checks to help elect pro-merit shop legislators.

Finally, Jeromy has also encouraged his employees to get involved with ABC and support the future of our industry. Nickle employees serve on the ABCares, Careers in Construction, Legislative & Legal Rights, Safety, Health & Wellness and Women in Construction committees.

Jeromy truly embodies the spirit of ABC and is deserving of the ABC Delaware 2025 Charter Cup.
