This 4-hour training class is for individuals who are looking for the competent person and/or Qualified person designation, and on a routine basis perform rigging work engaged in lifting loads. This class is for foreman or supervisors that want training beyond the norm. This class will also instruct the student in the proper use of hand, voice, and radio communications for the signaling person requirements. Subpart L Scaffolding: This course covers the requirements for safe use of scaffolding using OSHA’s Subpart L scaffold standard as a guide as well as applicable ANSI standards (A10.8). Course topics include hazards associated with scaffold design, assembly, disassembly and use, types of scaffolds, determining capacity, employee qualifications, training and inspection requirements. Fall protection requirements for scaffolds, personal fall arrest systems and guard rails. Upon course completion students will have the ability to identify the types of scaffolds and their components, determine safe use, and recognize common violations of OSHA standards.

Subpart M Fall Protection: This course covers the OSHA Fall Protection Standard for construction and an overview of fall protection methods. Course topics include principles of fall protection, components and limitations of fall arrest systems, as well as the ANSI Z359 fall protection standards that govern how fall protection systems are used & designed.
