Apply Now

ABC Delaware 2024 STEP applications are now available for contractors and suppliers.

ABC’s STEP Safety Management System provides contractors and suppliers with a robust, no-cost framework for measuring safety data and benchmarking with peers in the industry. The self-assessment tool helps participants identify real opportunities for scalable growth in their safety programs to lower their total recordable incident rates.

Once identified, growth opportunities spur deeper conversations between leaders and team members to develop a plan of action to implement best practices tailored to company needs. In the ever-expanding world of construction safety technology, continuously improve your program to ensure employees are set up for success now and in the future.

Click here to start your STEP application for contractors and suppliers.

 Deadline is April 19.

Remember, safety is everyone’s business. Ensure employees are returning home safe to families and loved ones every day. Submit your STEP safety self-assessment in as little as 30 minutes! There is no cost to participate.

Here are some frequently asked questions about why you apply for the National STEP Awards:

1. Who should complete the STEP application?

Founded in 1989 as a safety bench marking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 24 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce job-site incidents.

2. What are the STEP achievement levels?

There are six levels of STEP achievement: Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Participant.

3. Is there a fee to participate in STEP?

There is no application fee for STEP involvement at the Participant, Bronze, Silver or Gold recognition levels when you submit your application online at http://www.abcstep.org/ .

There is a fee for each Platinum application submitted. This fee is only refundable if the application does not meet the minimum 20 Key Components qualifying score; any application submitted that does not qualify based on the Incidence Rate, Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and fatality qualifying criteria listed in the application instructions below WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Payment information should be submitted with the Platinum application; failure to do so may result in processing delays.
