This training explains how to work safely around electricity and sources commonly found on job sites, including safely using power tools. It explains identifying the hazards associated with electric energy, how to control those hazards and how to protect yourself with the right personal protective equipment. The training refers to various Occupational Safety and Health Administration as well as ANSI and NFPA standards that must be in place in the workplace. Electric circuits, grounds, ground fault circuit interrupters, insulators and conductors are will be discussed in a construction setting to facilitate understanding of how electrical energy works and where the primary hazards lie.
